ADA Information

RuPaul’s DragCon is dedicated to serving all of its attendees and making their experience as enjoyable and entertaining as possible.

If you are an attendee with disabilities, RuPaul’s DragCon has implemented the following policies in order to provide you the best service possible.

Attendee Registration

When you arrive to pick up your badge(s), please alert one of the line monitors or a DragCon staff member, and we will happily assist you to the front of the line. Each registration table is wheelchair accessible, and we have helping hands available as needed.

Panel Room Seating

In every panel room, a portion of the front row is reserved for attendees with disabilities or mobility issues. These seats will be kept open until five minutes before the start of the panel. Please note that our panels can, and will, reach capacity, and reserved seats may be filled. It is highly recommended that you do not wait until the last minute to arrive at a panel room, and seating is not guaranteed.

Motorized Mobility Devices may be used by people with mobility impairments subject to reasonable safety restrictions (e.g. exercising extra caution in busy locations such as loading docks and show floors during move-in and move-out periods). Please contact Security and Safety Solutions at the Javits Center if you have any questions about restrictions.

Please note that:

  • Motorized Mobility Vehicles are available for rent at the Javits Center. Please make an advance reservation for a motorized mobility vehicle rental by clicking here. Please call 212-216-2196 for more information.
  • A limited number of manually operated wheelchairs are available at no fee. Please call 212-216-2196 before you arrive for information on reserving a manually operated wheelchair.

American Sign Language

American Sign Language interpreters will be available for the panels on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Guide Dogs and Service Animals

Service Animals (i.e. dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities) are welcome at the Javits Center — provided they are leashed or under similar control as appropriate. Trained miniature horses also will be permitted when possible in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Owners take full responsibility for their animals. Please contact Security and Safety Solutions at the Javits Center at 212-216-2196 before arriving if you have any questions.

Autograph Lines

Some autograph lines have a separate VIP access line. Please notify the line attendant, and you will be provided use of this separate line. Other lines do not have a separate line; please notify a line monitor, and they will accomodate your line entry. Please note that this access does not guarantee a “no wait” time, this access is provided to minimize navigation of lines.

If you have medication or special needs that needs refrigeration, please be aware that neither RuPaul’s DragCon or Jacob K. Javits Convention Center can provide refrigerators. You should bring a cooler or insulated bag to accommodate your own needs.

Please take care to plan your day in advance.

Please keep in mind that RuPaul’s DragCon cannot guarantee any seating, autographs, or giveaways.
